Behind The Scenes with Orgasmic Birth Team

We’ve been working hard on making a beautiful and informative website that serves you well, and we’d love to tell you a bit about how it’s all done here.

Rachel has been at the helm of the @OrgasmicBirth Twitter handle in putting out fabulous content for all things Orgasmic Birth. Rachel also organizes the emails and the facebook content so it appears seamless and beautiful for you.

Then there’s Debra’s brother, Greg Ihnen, who is the webmaster. Greg offers the kind of care and protection to Debra that only a brother can. Greg also took that fabulous photo of Debra twirling in the website banner. Nice shot, Greg!

Joe and Sacha ValleyThen there’s Joe Valley. He’s the guy that listened to Debra, her needs, and her passion for Orgasmic Birth; he helped bring together a diversity of offerings so it could reach you in a compelling and clear way. Joe arranged the website, put in the copy, and made it look pretty.

Nick JumaraThen there’s Joe’s brother-in-law, Nick Jumara, who made the fancy ribbon in the banner that says, “It’s time to awaken your inner wisdom!” Nick also offers indispensable advice for the nuts and bolts of website construction. It’s good having a web maverick in your back pocket.

We don’t have a good picture of us all together, which is mainly because we live in entirely different places. We accomplished what you see here by email, phone, and Skype screen sharing. If we were all together for a group shot, then it would probably look like this…

Balcony Vert“The wisest way to use Castor Oil as a way to encourage labor, is to start very early in the morning, after a good night’s sleep. if the mother did not rest well in the night, and there is no rush, e.g., her waters have not released, wait until the next morning. First, check all vitals, make sure mom and her partner are tranquil and happy to be launching this adventure of parenthood. If everything checks out fine, she can try, what we call, “Beijing Breakfast.” Named, because, for a long time in China there was a shortage of oxytocin, so doctors in the hospitals used this natural induction method, with great results.

Recipe for Beijing Breakfast

1 to 2 eggs cooked as mother likes them.
– 50 ml of organic odor free Castor oil
– 10 or more ounces of fresh orange juice

Guerilla Midwife Movie

Award winning documentary Guerrilla Midwife (90 minutes), takes us along the fragrant streets of Bali and desolate Acelinnese refugee camps of the Indonesian archipelago following midwife Ibu Robin Lim as her midwifery is put to the test. Amaterasu_cave_edit2Wishing you love and peace in this season of light. For those in the Northern Hemisphere, as we leave some of the darkness behind and welcome the light today on Solstice, I pray that the love and caring the world has shown helps to provides comfort and healing for all those who lost loved ones in the tragedy in Newton, CT and all who are suffering loss.

In the last weeks, I lost a dear father and along with my family have also been grieving. As we celebrate his life, I struggle to find a new way of holding him close this holiday season. I am filled with gratitude for the time we had together and the many ways he touched and shaped my life. I am comforted by the many thoughts and prayers that have surrounded us these last weeks. Thank you for these.

As I write this, I am filled with gratitude for you. For touching my life with your spirit and desire to bring peace on earth thru birth. Each one of us is helping to create a world where every woman receives respect, dignity and informed decision making for where, with whom and how she gives birth. I am forever grateful to share this path with you. I thank you for being a part of our Orgasmic Birth family and hope you will join me in the New Year as we launch a new web site, webinars, destinations workshops and more so that we can stay in touch and share creative ways to Awaken our Inner Wisdom in life and birth.

Today is also the end to the Mayan Calander. I like to think of this as the end of the world as we know it. May a new cycle for humanity begin as we spread the doula spirit in all our lives, creating a circle of support for birth and life. Feminine energy is rising and balancing as we value girls and women around the world. I can feel the effects as I speak and teach around the world. Our doula skills of unconditional caring and nurturing are spreading and reawakening our world as we work to ensure that we welcome each new baby with love, peace and gentleness.

May this holiday season fill you with Love, Light and Peace.
